Is the Lodge family-children-friendly?
Yes. We welcome children of all ages for parties who rent out the entire Lodge, so it is perfect for a family gathering. If you are a guest taking only part of the Lodge, we welcome your children 12 and older. Back to Top Is the Lodge pet-friendly? Partially. If you have rented the entire Lodge for your trip, you can bring your dog along. However, because of the many wild animals that surround the Lodge, as well as the bison herd, we require all dogs to be on a leash and under control at all times, for the protection of our wild neighbors and your dog. If you are renting only a part of the Lodge, out of consideration for other guests, we ask that you leave your beloved pets at home. Back to Top Can you have a good time even if you don’t fly fish? Absolutely! There are many other activities at the Lodge you can enjoy. Back to Top Are there any restaurants or shops nearby? The closest collection of restaurants and shops is about an hour away in Jackson. Bondurant, a town of 100 people and 4 miles from the Ranch, does have one bar/restaurant/grocery store, The Elkhorn, and a cafe. “The art of resting the mind and the power of dismissing from it all care and worry is probably one of the secrets of energy in our great men.” - Captain J. A. Hadfield Back to Top When are the best times to visit? Summer is the most popular season and generally offers the most variety of outdoor activities. But the quieter Fall and Spring shoulder seasons present some of the more outstanding opportunities to experience Nature’s transitions first hand. Winter is pure peace and serenity with many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Back to Top What forms of payment do you accept? We accept personal checks and all major credit cards. Back to Top What sort of weather can I expect? The Lodge is an alpine resort at 7100 feet above sea level. Days can be warm and nights can be cool. High altitude sun can be much more intense, so if sun exposure is a concern, be sure to bring long pants and sleeves, a hat, and plenty of sunscreen. Back to Top Is there cell phone and internet access at the Lodge? There is no cell phone service at the Lodge. Land lines are available and guests can make and receive calls at 303-734-6133. Free wi-fi internet access is available at the Lodge and there is a computer, fax and printer for your convenience. Back to Top Can I smoke at the Lodge? Not in the Lodge, but you’re welcome to smoke outdoors. Back to Top Can you accommodate my special dietary needs? Yes! Our chef will work with you to make sure you have delicious options within your dietary restrictions. Back to Top Is there a fly shop at the Lodge? No, but we can order items from our partners at Two Rivers Emporium for you. Two Rivers can also put together a special Lodge fly collection, containing the flies reflecting what’s hatching and what’s hitting on the area’s streams and rivers. Back to Top What if I want to go horseback riding? When you make your reservations, make sure to tell us that you want to go riding and the level of experience you have. We’ll arrange rides of various lengths and terrain, based on your desires and experience. Back to Top Does the Lodge hire its own guides? No. We partner with Two Rivers Emporium in nearby Pinedale for our fishing guests who want to fish the waters in and around the Lodge. We work with other outfitters to fish the Snake in Jackson, the rivers of Yellowstone National Park, The Bonneville and other rivers to give our guests any fishing experience they desire, and, of course, to capture the Cutt Slam. For hiking, wildlife viewing, cultural and historical tours; anything you want to experience, let us know what you want and we’ll find the right guide for you. Back to Top How do I drive to the Lodge? If you will be elsewhere in the Jackson Hole area, here are driving directions to the Lodge. Driving Directions The Lodge at Jackson Fork Ranch is located just over 50 miles southeast of the Jackson Hole, WY airport. The airport is located in Grand Teton Park about nine miles north of Jackson. Please call us at 307-734-6133 before you leave town so we can anticipate your arrival. When leaving the airport, turn right towards Jackson, about nine miles south. Once you enter town, you will come to the intersection with Broadway Avenue. Turn right at the stop light towards Hoback Junction and head through town. At mile 22.4, you will come to a small junction where the Hoback and Snake Rivers meet. A gas station and store are in this area. Bear left, and go up the hill on Highway 189/191 towards Pinedale. (This is the end of mobile telephone service.) The upcoming stretch of road takes you through a narrow canyon. Please drive safely. Once you exit the canyon at mile 41, the road will straighten and you enter the Bondurant area. The Elkhorn restaurant is just outside the canyon on the right. The Upper Hoback Road turnoff is exactly 5.85 miles from The Elkhorn. Approaching the turnoff, slow down as the highway curves to the left. In the middle of this turn is a gravel road on your right called Upper Hoback Road. Turn right onto this road and continue 6.6 miles to the entrance gate of The Lodge at Jackson Fork Ranch. Enter the electronic passcode. The gates will open to permit passage and automatically close behind you. Back to Top |
